Who needs a picture when you have a clean window?

I have a few days off during which I have assigned myself household tasks, like ‘clean the windows’. If my mother left an imprint it is ‘be clean’. Obviously in your appearance but also in your home. I can’t say that I shared her enthusiasm in her words, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Nonetheless, it is right that I pay attention to the home in which I live.

I am grateful several times a day for my home, a place I can relax, be quiet and zoom to the rest of the planet. I have always ideas and things to enquire about other than ‘clean windows’.

Even when I set aside time I still find myself finding excuses and things to delay me. I challenge myself to ‘just do it’ and ask, “Why am I so resistant?” I have so many other things to read, write, walk, drink coffee. I don’t want to be drawn away from them. But it is right to pay attention to the place I live so come on, “Just do it.”

I get to it and this morning I can see more clearly than before at least outside my kitchen window.

Best day,

g
