What should a workplace be?
It seems time to present a vision as many report unhealthy places of work
A workplace should be……
- Positive always promoting the best you
2. Supportive always wanting to ensure when you need support it is there
3. Concerned about you and only setting you work that can be achieved
4. Prepared to listen to you when you say there is more work than paid hours and reduce what is expected
5. Where you want to be doing what you love
6. Valuing your experience and knowledge in determining workload
7. Understanding when life knocks you
8. Singing your praises and valuing your contribution
9. Developing you constructively
10. Comfortable and pleasant to work in
11. Adequately staffed and equipped
12. So good that its staff encourage others to join
13. Encouraging you to leave once your hours are done in order to return refreshed
14. Not driven by targets but by a desire to do a good job
15. Understanding when things go wrong
16. Led by those who remain mindful of the reality of the job
17. Thankful for its staff and the commitment they give
18. Saying what is good five times louder than what is not
19. Recognising a worker’s union and working with it to make it an even better place to work
