Today is and will be the most amazing day of your life

This morning I wrote,

“Today is and will be the most amazing day of your life. The day is with you, work with it, dance with it. Everything you need will be. Ask, Today.”

Well of course it is because this day will never occur again. It has been a great day because I did what I wrote, I believed it, I danced with it and I asked when I needed something.

Around noon I took myself to the cafe. Me being me I wanted to dig deeper into ‘this amazing day’. I wondered where would I dig when I was reminded of the current passage that we are contemplating.

In verses 29 & 30 of chapter 15 of the Book of Matthew, it reads that people brought the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others to Jesus.

Then after all those in need are healed verse 32 takes us in a different direction speaking of Jesus's compassion for the multitude,

I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”

It makes me wonder if Jesus was in town what a friend may recognise as my need and bring me to see him. I can see myself saying, “Jeremy, just in case Jesus asks me what I want, what do I say?”

Or maybe the ‘compassionate Jesus’ rather than the ‘healer Jesus’ would be better suited for me. He may recognise my need like he recognised the needs of the people who may have forgotten they needed to eat.

What would he see as my need?

As I ponder Jesus disappears as I see another and what they need me to be. They need me to be stable, to be reliable, to be able to count on me yet I can be unstable, unreliable, unaccountable. I don't want to get tied into an expectation of being reliable, stable, and dependable. I just want to be. I probably would be all of those but just as I am.

Do I see a need? There are not many who can survive without knowing that they are loved, that they matter to someone.

I hear the words ‘If they ask tell them the Lord has need of them’. This was when Jesus needed a donkey to ride into Jerusalem. He asked someone to go and get a donkey and they must have asked what if the owner asked what were they doing?

I need help to dance with the day some mornings when I awake I am duller than the weather in December. I need help when I get stuck. I seem to get stuck a lot. My life can feel like a lift that works well most of the time but occasionally gets stuck. Yeah, I see Jesus is the lift alarm bell in my life, “Lord I am stuck again help me!”

I need to know that I am dancing with life how I should. A voice says, “Just live and the dance happens”. I see it let me live and you will see whether I am all that you want.
