Today I head off to the Krishnamurti Gathering, in Hampshire. On Tuesday I was working to get everything to where I was happy to leave. I switched off relieved at 11:40 pm. Yesterday felt relaxed as I got our home also to a place where I was happy to leave it.

Now I am ready to go. Once I finish this tea in M & S cafe I am off.

At such moments I am always reminded of the story of the people of Israel leaving Egypt ( Exodus 12 v 33–37). They were told to make preparations so that they were ready to leave immediately. I pack my rucksack hoping I have all that I need for the next 6 days.

It is one thing to leave it is another to begin a new adventure. It requires trust, flexibility and openness. In my preparations, I am clearing out that which no longer serves a purpose to allow in that which is required now.

I know that what happens in the next few days will shape me indeed the preparation has already focussed my mind and activities.
