We are almost at the end of August, so much so that it seems September has already begun.

It is what happens once the bank holiday weekend has ended; it signals the end of the summer.

I am aware that the roads are still quieter; the schools return on Wednesday.

I awoke later this morning, not surprisingly, as I didn't stop until 7:30 pm last night. I may start the day intrepid, but usually, there is at least one thing to encourage me in the day. Yesterday evening, two encouragements came towards the end of the day. I got to speak to someone who was trying to track me down, and a positive meeting was had.

This is living by faith, a belief that somehow, despite there being more things than can get done, we will get through.

I booked a voucher to get my eyes tested again and a podiatrist appointment to keep those feet healthy.

I got to the barber in time and felt like a sheep shorn of its locks in the summer.

Tired I was, but I walked on until finding the Greek cafe, where I fed my hunger and quenched my thirst.

When I got home, I threw myself face down on my bed and dozed off for an hour or more.

Eyes, feet and tiredness tell me I have to look after this body that has looked after me.
