Have you lost something?

Sr Anne Reddington’s painting of the lost sheep

I returned to my old university today with Cee. She wanted to study and as she was picking me up she asked would I join her. I did wonder whether they would let a middle aged man in, they did.

Later in the evening, I got a text to say that I had left a folder in the University’s library. It is always a relief when someone tells you they have found something before you realise you have lost it.

I searched around my rucksack for a thank you card and found the one in the photo. I thought it was apt as it depicts the story of the lost sheep that is found.

Life does seem to be about losing and finding. Some of us lose our way and are relieved to find that someone noticed and came looking for us to bring us home.

What if we have all lost our way and need someone or something to bring us back to our true selves. If we stop for a moment and ask ourselves what would our true selves look like we can then compare it to our present position and decide whether we are lost?

Is it too bold to say that I believe at the moment we realise we are lost someone or something will appear on the horizon?
