I attended the Global Meeting for Worship last Wednesday at which we were looking at the question, ‘What gives us security in times of crisis?’

As I sat in silence I became aware of what I have come to know that ‘the moment’ is the best place for me whether in crisis or bliss. I have paraphrased it, “The only thing required of us is this moment”

I remind myself of the moment when people ask me how I am, I reply, “I am alive.” It is a reminder to me that if I were not alive nothing else would be happening. It is a thank you to life.

I remind myself of the moment when people say, “I will see you tomorrow” I reply, “If the sun rises”. Again a reminder to myself that I am dependent on the universe to do what it does. If it doesn't neither do I.

When it comes to what do I have, I have only this life within me in this moment. I may have things but they are as nothing to the life that is present.
