Could your choice of Fancy dress reveal your gift?
I was working on ‘nominations’ on Saturday morning and part of Sunday. In Britain, Quaker communities do not have ordained clergy, so each year we have to work out who should do what. The process for doing it is overseen by the ‘Nomination committee’. In our case three of us decide who would be best to nominate to the Meeting for the roles.
Often it is the case that the person already in the role is happy to continue for at least another year so our task is narrowed to those roles with no post holder.
It was perhaps having been focussed on this that during ‘Meeting’ (what we refer to as silent waiting) I found myself thinking of Fancy dress costumes that I had worn. I recalled an Astronaut suit that I had requested from Santa. It won in the first year of wearing it but not the second. That got me thinking about what we requested from Santa.
Between the Fancy Dress costumes and our requests to Santa we may find what we like and with it our giftings.
That said I never did become an astronaut but I did become a spiritual explorer.
So test out my theory! Is there any connection to fancy dress costumes you have worn, your request to Santa and what you are doing or have done?
